With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Cortés Rodríguez worked for different law firms and solo practitioners in Puerto Rico and Florida as a Paralegal and Law Clerk since 1994, and as an attorney in Florida since 2001. Has defended cases in Florida in Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, Lake, Volusia, Dade, Brevard, Broward, Hillsborough, and Okaloosa counties. Also, have defended cases in the Middle District of Florida in Orlando, Tampa, and Ft. Myers in Federal Bankruptcy, Criminal, and Civil Courts. Also have been Pro Hac Vice in the Federal Southern District of Florida in Miami. In the area of Immigration and Naturalization, Attorney Cortés Rodríguez has represented clients before the USCIS, ICE, and Customs and Border Patrol in Orlando, Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville, West Palm Beach, and Baltimore. Attorney Cortés Rodríguez was Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico in 1969, and he was raised between the towns of Carolina and Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. Studied his Elementary School at Colegio Bautista de Carolina, and his High School at Colegio Santa Cruz in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. Graduated with honors in 1986, from the Liceo Interamericano Castro in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. In 1987, won the National Children's Poetry Contest with the poem "La melodía", which was published in an anthology in 1987. Studied Social Sciences and Psychology at the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, but transfer to the Inter American University of Puerto Rico in Cupey, in 1993. Worked between 1986 and 1993 in the Airline Industry between Puerto Rico and Venezuela, and in the Media Industry for several radio stations in Puerto Rico, between 1993 and 1997. Between 1986, and 1993, was the vocalist and guitarist of Puerto Rican Rock Band "Cal y Arena". Also, between 1997 and 1998, he was a Special Aid to the late Hon. José E. Aponte De LaTorre, mayor of the Autonomous Municipality of Carolina in Puerto Rico. Moved to the Orlando Metropolitan Area in 1998. Owned several Internet Radio Stations between 2007 and 2013, and produced music events and artists between 2007 and 2013. Mr. Cortés Rodríguez has been involved in youth soccer in Central Florida serving as President and Founder of several soccer clubs and leagues in Central Florida between 2008 and 2019. A Scientologist since 2013. He is married and have five children and a grandchild.
